You might ask, "Why Jesus?"
The answer is, because God Loves You.
The Bible reveals vital information about eternity for every human being. Not only information, but it provides answers to life's seemingly unknown questions for every human being. If you are willing to get into the Bible for yourself, and seek God about your life, you will find that the answers to life's questions are not really "unknown", because God has given us that knowledge - IF we are willing to pursue it.
God does business with those that mean business. There can be no half-hearted pursuit of God.
So "why Jesus?" Why is He so necessary and important? Why do so many people preach His name, knock on doors, hang signs, spread His Gospel by way of Television, radio, internet? Because we're trying to get a very important message out to the world about eternity.
Have you examined your life? Have you noticed your human nature? Have you seen your tendancy to do wrong, and seen the evil in our world? Yet most of us would no doubt say we are good people. We don't murder, like others have. We give to charity, and are nice to people. But what if we measure ourselves against God's standards instead of our own? For every single one of us, we would fall short. For example. God's law says not to lie (9th commandment). Have you ever told a lie? Even a "little white lie"? Have you ever stolen anything? Regardless if it was 20 years ago or yesterday, stealing is violation of God's law. What about murder? Did you know that by God's standards, if we hold hate in our hearts against someone, it is the same as murder. The 10 commandmands, and the the rest of Almighty God's principles and precepts are recorded in God's holy book, the Bible, and are violated day in and day out by every single human being. If we are honest with ourselves, we will agree with this fact. Romans 2:15 says that God has "written His law on our hearts - our conscience tells us when we do things wrong". That's because God your Creator made His ways known to each of us. He put it within us, to help us know right from wrong according to His standards. The problem comes in that one day, when we die (and we all will... one day) we must stand before a holy God and be judged for the Laws we have broken, and the life we have lived on this earth. We will be judged by God's laws, not our own. And although Hell was not created for mankind (it was created for satan) it is the judgement that awaits those who refuse to deal with their sin (breaking God's law). Sin separates us from God. It must be dealt with. And God has a plan to do just that.
The Good News:
Jesus Christ stepped in and paid the penalty for your sin (breaking of God's laws). John 3:16 says that "God so loved the world, He gave His only begotton Son, so that whoever believes in Him, will not perish (be judged), and have everlasting life". God does not want to judge us, but He must. And He will (Romans 3:23). We have broken His laws, and continue to do so, and just like a civil judge in a court of law where we have broken the law, we will pay a price. "But what about forgiveness", you might ask. God is good, and He is ready to forgive the repentant person who acknowledges that they have sinned against God. Because God is good, He must punish sin. Just as an earthly judge must pass judgment on those that break our earthly laws. God wants to save you from the difficult days ahead. He wants to give you a renewed spiritual life (Born Again). He wants to bless you, show His love and kindness towards you. The Gospel is powerful. God has the power to change your life; to set you free from sin, but also from all of other bondages in your life. And Jesus Christ is the way to God. Through Him alone, a soul is Saved and made right before God.
Confess your need of Christ Jesus today friend. God is listening. Repent from sin, place your confidence in Jesus Christ to be judgement for you, and be saved from an eternity apart from God.
